Behind the pictures and behind the words are the authors and contributors of RVHobby.com
Our first author and contribtutor is Jeff Loyd.
He is an avid camper and rv restoring enthusiast. It all started for Jeff when he aquired a beat up, old tent trailer. It took 12 months in total, but Jeff restored that tent trailer to better than the original factory setup. You can read about that Tent Trailer and view the picture slideshow here.
Our Second author is Jim Schrankel.
Jim has been involved in RVing since the early 70s when he purchased his first homemade slide in camper. He has purchased and renovated over 30 campers, trailers and fifth wheels for resale. His wife of 41 years, Linda, has helped with interior design and the renovations. Now, nearing retirement and fulltiming, they have renovated their fulltimer rig, a 33′ 1997 Alpenlite fifth wheel. “Many folks are hesitant to make modifications to their RVs, when in fact most stick built home renovations can be applied to the campers.” Jim said. “Make your RV what you want it to be, and make it yours.” Jim currently lives in Olympia, Washington and has a countdown clock counting days to retirement and fulltiming.
Our Third author is Jessica Leonard
Hi Im Jessica. My family and I live full time in our 1989 24 Ft. Honey RV. We homeschool, and work camp, and are happy as pigs in mud! Living in our RV this way has helped us cut our monthly expenses to under $1000 per month. We have always been a close family, who enjoyed camping and being outdoors and such. Rving is totally newΒ to us so we are definetly learning as we go. Our plan is to upgrade and restore and make this RV Home as we go along. We have a family blog were I share my thoughts on what we are doing for school, how we are liking RV living, and any projects that we undertake as we go. I look forward to learning and sharing with you and hope you will stop by to check out our projects. =) www.oddnjess.blogspot.com (see RV Living in word cloud..)

I bought a 1989 rockwood driftwood 34 ft with 70k on the clock. It had a 4000 dollar paint job on the outside. I paid 4000 for it. I have put a complete new rubber roof on it, along with all new vents, skylight, etc… Now I have most of the interer out, in the bathroom I have put new flooring, tub, surround, toilet sink, and beadboard paneling. Also new formica throughout the entire coach. Rear wall in bedroom has beadboard on the back wall, and the other walls are painted a heavy cream. Getting ready to wallpaper rest of the coach. I have new wood vinal plank flooring for the coach. new cook top new faucets throughout in brushed nickel. the front overhead has been redone with a swing out flat screen mount so you can pull the TV out and view it on the couch. I have done a lot more already but not listed. Much more to go I hope to be done within a month, at that point I have put in aprox 300 hours into the renovation.
Wow Kurt! You've got some serious time and effort into that Rockwood! Good job. You should write up an article about that with some pics and send it to the RVHobby guys. I'd like to see that.

I had really good luck with a place called “carls acres of trailers” . They are out of Encino California and their staff was very helpful in finding some very old gasket material even though I didn’t know exactly what I needed. They were able to find it and shipped it very fast. good luck with your project. we are rebuilding a 1979 coleman Rebel very cute Little camper. Zella
