@Jessica
One thing to keep in mind with Earth Class Mail is that you rarely, if ever, have to actually get physical copies of the mail. So for most users it won't matter if there's a physical box in their area.
My friend Mark has been using this for a few years and he's always telling me how surprised he is that he doesn't need 99% of the mail that comes in physical form. He just downloads the scanned pdf they provide him.

Of course, it's not convenient for receiving packages or magazines but for keeping an eye on the mail that comes in and getting scanned copies within 24 hours it's very, very effective.

The other nice thing about it is that they handle your mail in a secure environment instead of at the counter of the local UPS/Mailbox rental facility. I've seen some people on the web talk about doing that and having it scanned. I'm just not comfortable with that myself.

It is more expensive than your option - and if that works really well for you then that's great news. Hopefully others will learn from the post and our comments and be able to put together a solution that will allow them to travel freely!

Thanks for your comment!

We looked into this but they didnt have anything that would work for our area... yet.. =) So we have a local po box, and we go check it once a week... when we are unable to get there to it... we can call in and they will check it for us and tell whether there is anything important or junk in there. Things that are important that we cant get to get forwarded to my moms house where we can pick it up. It works for us... and is under $100 for the years service.. =)
